Microbial contamination of water poses a major threat to public health. With the emergence of microorganisms resistant to multiple antimicrobial agents, there is increased request for promotion of disinfection methods.
In this study, viability of the autotrophic bacteria was investigated in a denitrification process. Bench-scale bioelectrochemical denitrification with separated chambers reactor were applied for nitrate reduction from synthetic wastewater. The influences of current density, retention time, mixing on viability of autotrophic denitrifying bacteria were investigated in the bioelectrochemical reactor (BER).
One of the indexes of stabilization pond is the presence of coliform bacteria in water and wastewater. This study aimed to determine the effect of solar light on coliform variations in stabilization pond. In this experimental study, the effect of light, pH (<7, 7.1–8, 8.1–9), and temperature (10 ºC and 30 ºC) on facultative stabilization pond was studied for six months.
In this work, CKCr-6A strain was found to be highly resistant to some toxic heavy metals such asCr+6, Cr+3, Cu+2, Co+2, Cd+2, Pb+2, Hg+2, U+6, tellurium, and selenite.

Chromium enters surface and ground waters through the wastewater of electroplating, textile, metallurgical, dye production, and other industries, leading to numerous adverse health effects.
Nanoparticles (NPs) are a heterogeneous group of materials that have various applications, and their risk assessment is an essential condition. This study aimed to review the applicable risk assessment methods in occupational and environmental exposures to NPs.
Since Babagorgorfountain in the Ghorveh city of Kurdistan province is located in the arsenic belt of Iran, to raise awareness about the quality of drinking water from this fountain the concentration of arsenic and other heavy metals as well as other physicochemical parameters were investigated to protect the public health.
The aim of this study was to determine the density of benzene and toluene in barbershops of Sanandaj and also to determine effective factors for this pollution. A descriptive, analytical study was conducted to measure the volatile organic compound density and determine the effective factors.
