Chapter 1 Administration
۱-۱ * Scope. This standard provides criteria for defining and identifying fire-retardant-treated wood and fire-retardant-coated building materials.
۱-۲ Purpose. (Reserved)
۱-۳ Application. (Reserved)
۱-۴ Retroactivity. Unless otherwise specified, the provisions of mis standard shall not apply to facilities, equipment, structures, or installations that existed or were approved for construction or installation prior to the effective date of the standard. Where specified, the provisions of this standard shall be retroactive.
۱-۵ Equivalency.
۱-۵-۱ Nothing in this standard is intended to prevent the use of systems, methods, or devices of equivalent or superior quality, strength, fire resistance, effectiveness, durability, and safety over d10se prescribed by this standard.
