Chapter 1 General Information
۱-۱ Application and Scope.
۱-۱-۱ This standard shall apply to the prevention of loss of life and property damage from fires in motor freight terminals.
۱-۱-۲ This standard shall apply to freight transfer areas, offices, employee facilities, and vehicle maintenance and service areas.
۱-۱-۳ This standard shall apply to motor freight terminals that handle freight of various types, including ordinary combustible materials and materials classified as hazardous in accordance with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Parts 100–۱۹۹.
۱-۱-۳-۱ Terminals for truck transportation of explosives shall be in accordance with NFPA 495, Explosive Materials Code, and NFPA 498, Standard for Safe Havens and Interchange Lots for Vehicles Transporting Explosives.
۱-۱-۳-۲ Terminals for bulk shipments of flammable and combustible liquids shall comply with NFPA 30, Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code.
۱-۱-۳-۳ Terminals for bulk shipments of LP-Gas shall comply with NFPA 58, Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code.
