Chapter 1 General
۱-۱ Scope. This standard shall cover all the equipment and installations used in the design, construction, transportation, fire safety, plumbing, heat-producing, and electrical systems of manufactured homes that are designed to be used as dwelling units. This standard shall, to the maximum extent possible, establish performance requirements. In certain instances, however, the use of specific requirements is necessary.
۱-۲ Definitions. The following definitions are common to all chapters of this standard and are in addition to the definitions provided in individual chapters.
۱-۲-۱ Administrative Regulations. Regulations promulgated by the regulatory agency for administration and enforcement of the provisions of this standard.
۱-۲-۲* Approved. Acceptable to the authority having jurisdiction.
۱-۲-۳* Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). An organization, office, or individual responsible for enforcing the requirements of a code or standard, or for approving equipment, materials, an installation, or a procedure.
