Chapter 1 Administration
۱-۱ Scope. This document is designed to assist individuals, agencies, organizations, or systems as well as those interested or involved in emergency medical services (EMS) system design.
۱-۲ Purpose. The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines, resources, and recommendations to assist those interested or involved in EMS system design. Provision or development of out-of-hospital care requires the coordination and cooperation of disparate elements. This document also provides a framework for designing or evaluating a comprehensive EMS system.
