Chapter 1 Administration
Δ ۱-۱ Scope.
N 1-1-1 This standard specifies the basic training procedures for fire service personnel to conduct fire fighters rapid intervention operations as specified in NFPA 1710 and NFPA 1720.
۱-۱-۲ This standard specifies basic evolutions that can be adapted to local conditions and serves as a standard mechanism for the evaluation of minimum acceptable performance during training for rapid intervention activities.
۱-۲* Purpose. The purpose of this standard is to specify a training program that is designed to create a highly disciplined operational capability to rescue fire fighter(s) who become lost, injured, trapped, incapacitated, or disoriented at an emergency scene or in the course of a training operation.
۱-۳ Equivalency. Nothing herein is intended to restrict any jurisdiction from exceeding these minimum requirements.

۲-۱ General. The documents or portions thereof listed in this chapter are referenced within this standard and shall be considered part of the requirements of this document.
