NFPA 1225 – Standard for Emergency Services Communications

Chapter 1 Administration
۱-۱ Scope. This standard identifies the minimum job performance requirements (JPRs) for Public Safety Telecommunications Personnel, and provides minimum requirements for the installation, maintenance, and use of emergency services communications systems.
۱-۲ Purpose. The purpose of this standard is to specify the minimum job performance requirements (JPRs) for service as Public Safety Telecommunications Personnel and specify minimum requirements for systems, retransmissions, dispatching, performance levels and quality of installations for emergency services communications.
۱-۳* Application. This standard can be applied as follows:
(۱) Chapters 1 through 11, and Annexes A, B, C, D, E, and G constitute the 2022 edition of NFPA 1061.
(۲) Chapters 1 through 3, Chapters 12 through 23, and Annexes A, F, and G constitute the 2022 edition of NFPA 1221.
۱-۴ Equivalency. Nothing in this standard is intended to prevent the use of systems, methods, or devices of equivalent or superior quality, strength, fire resistance, effectiveness, durability, and safety over those prescribed by this standard.
