NFPA 1192 – Standard on Recreational Vehicles

Chapter 1 Administration
۱-۱* Scope. This standard shall cover fire and life safety criteria for recreational vehicles.
۱-۲ Purpose. The purpose of this standard shall be to provide the minimum criteria for recreational vehicles that are considered necessary to provide protection from loss of life from fire and explosion.
۱-۳ Application.
۱-۳-۱* The requirements of this standard shall be applied to all new recreational vehicles.
۱-۳-۲ This standard shall not be applied as a stand-alone design specification or instruction manual.
۱-۴ Retroactivity. This standard shall not be applied retroactively.
۱-۵ Equivalency. The provisions of this standard shall not be intended to prevent the use of any material, method of construction, or installation procedure not specifically prescribed by this standard, provided any such alternate is acceptable to the authority having jurisdiction. The authority having jurisdiction shall require that sufficient evidence be submitted to substantiate any claims made regarding the safety of such alternatives.
