NFPA 1140 – Standard for Wildland Fire Protection

Chapter 1 Administration
۱-۱ Scope. This standard provides the minimum requirements for wildland fire management and the associated professional qualifications for wildland fire positions.
۱-۲ Purpose. The purpose of this standard is to specify the minimum requirements for fire protection and emergency services infrastructure in wildland, rural, and suburban areas; wildland fire management practices and policies; methods of assessing wildland fire ignition hazards; and job performance requirements (JPRs) for wildland fire positions.
۱-۳* Application. This standard can be applied as follows:
(۱) Chapters l through 3; 4 through 9; and Annexes A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, and L constitute the 2022 edition of NFPA 1051.
(۲) Chapters 1 through 3; 10 through 18; and Annexes A and L constitute the 2022 edition of NFPA 1141.
(۳) Chapters 1 through 3; 19 through 23; and Annexes A,J, and L constitute the 2022 edition of NFPA 1143.
(۴) Chapters 1 through 3; 24 through 26; and Annexes A,J, K, and L constitute the 2022 edition of NFPA 1144.
