Chapter 1 Administration
۱-۱* Scope. This standard shall identify the minimum job performance requirements (JPRs) for fire investigators.
۱-۲* Purpose. This standard shall specify the minimum JPRs for serving as a fire investigator in both the private and public sectors.
۱-۲-۱ This standard shall define the fire investigator position.
۱-۲-۲ The intent of this standard shall be to ensure mat individuals who serve as fire investigators are qualified to do so.
۱-۲-۳ It shall not be the intent of this standard to restrict any jurisdiction from exceeding or combining these minimum requirements.
۱-۲-۴ JPRs for each duty are me tasks personnel shall be able to perform to successfully carry out mat duty.
۱-۲-۵ Fire investigators who perform or support fire investigations shall remain current with me general knowledge, skills, and JPRs.
۱-۲-۶ Fire investigators who perform or support fire investigations shall remain current with practices and applicable standards.
