National Adaptation Strategy and Plan of Action NASPA for Climate Change and Health

Nowadays, global warming and climate change are the most significant challenges worldwide.According to the fourth IPCC report (2007), the influences of climate change are the global, andevery country faces the causes and consequences of this problem.
In October 2008, the World Health Organization (WHO) Eastern Mediterranean Regional Committeeissued at its fifth-fifth session a Regional Committee Resolution (EM/RC55/R.8).
The resolution on Climate Change and Health aims at protecting human health from the impacts ofclimate change. It also urges Member States to implement the endorsed Regional Framework forHealth Sector Action to Protect Health from the Effects of Climate Change. Significant focus of theresolution is on capacity building of the health sector in the Member States encouraging the healthsystems to undertake assessment of health vulnerability to climate change to proactively prepareand address the health impacts of climate change.
